MANSBRIDGE & BALMENT SPONSORHIP NEWS

The Woolwell Centre and Mansbridge Balment are combining in a one year sponsorship deal which starts tomorrow with the re-naming of the Main Hall as the Mansbridge & Balment Hall.

Mansbridge & Balment’s Woolwell office manager Kevin Buckingham will be unveiling the plaque at mid-day, Wednesday , April 23rd.

The agreement sees a financial contribution to us here at the Centre ( we are a registered charity ) and an ongoing partnership which will look at financial support for one-off events in the next twelve months.

Here’s what Kevin said to the press – ( it was a news story in the Herald yesterday ) –

“ I recently had a guided tour of the centre and as a local resident I was both
impressed and surprised by the amount and variety of activities at the centre,
and also the commitment and energy of the staff and volunteers to provide
such a high quality facility.’

‘As an estate agent in the area it is great to be able to support a unique venue
that really adds value and quality of life here in Woolwell and
boasts such a large number of activities “.

So – feel free to come along tomorrow at luncthime – and support your centre as Kevin opens a new chapter in the story of the Woolwell Centre.

MOVE YA BODY !!!!

STARTS - THURSDAY APRIL 10TH

On Thursday 10th April our children’s dance class, ‘Move ya body’ returns for a new term.
The class is run by Heather Waryck one of our Under fives and after-school club leaders and street dancer!!

The class is made up of:

Warm – up and stretches

Dancing to party routines eg: Time warp / Macarena etc (a great way to perfect routines or learn them from scratch)

‘Good physical exercise for children who like dancing to routines they already know, bringing in Party songs with exciting routines.’

‘Children can enjoy the fun with their friends and have time to socialise and keep-fit.’

Every Thursday 6.45 – 7.45pm for 7-10 year olds.

£3.00 per session – no need to book, just turn up!!

~ STARTING ON TUESDAY APRIL 29th ! ~

~ IT'S JIVE TIME !!! ~

Are you interested in learning to jive to 1950s Rock 'n' Roll ?We are looking for about 40 people to join a course of 8 lessons in 50's style jive starting at the Woolwell Centre - we have run the same course 6 times in Tavistock where it has proved very popular and successful - now we're bringing it to Plymouth.

The sessions start on Tuesday April 29th running from from 8.15 - 10.15pm.

The course is aimed at beginners and each session will include about 90 minutes of tuition followed by 30 minutes of freestyle dance.

Fee - £ 40 per person for the full 8 lessons.

The first session will be a taster and will cost only £ 5.00 with no further committment.

Little Kickers is coming to the Woolwell Centre from May and at the moment is pencilled in for 2 sessions on a Thursday afternoon from 1.30pm - 3.30pm.

Sam is running the session and she is currently collecting names of people who might be interested.
